September 3, 1903: “The sawmill belonging to Jack Connolly, about eight miles below Keno, was burned to the ground Thursday night, together with about 200,000 feet of lumber. The fire was incendiary in origin and had been started in five different places.
Mr. Connolly with the assistance of his family stopped the fire from spreading to the timber, by carrying water from the river in pails.” (Klamath Republican)

September 3, 1903: “The Connolly sawmill , located on the Klamath a few miles below Keno, with something like 150,000 feet of lumber, was destroyed by fire Thursday night of last week. No insurance. The mill was leased by H. Snowgoose, and the lumber was under attachment by John Connolly. Mr. Connolly says the fire was of incendiary origin.” (Klamath Falls Express)
