January 10, 1895: "Klamath county's present sheriff, A. A. Fitch, is a native of Michigan and was born in 1858. He is a machinist and engineer by trade, and moving west at the age of 21 he plied his vocation in all the states and territories this side of the Missouri river. He came to Klamath county in 1888 and built Callahan's sawmill north of the town of Dairy. He afterward with his brother purchased and operated it." (Klamath Falls Express)

May 22, 1902: “Saw Mill For Sale --- I hereby offer my saw mill, planer, and all equipment for same for sale. It is the best equipped mill in the county, daily capacity from 15 to 20 thousand feet of lumber. Apply or write to A.A. Fitch, Dairy, Oregon” & "A.A. Fitch, the saw mill man was in town over Saturday from his mill east of Dairy. He was accompanied by Wm. Woods.” (Klamath Falls Express)
July 9, 1903: “Al. Fitch, who runs a sawmill near Dairy, was injured yesterday by a log rolling on him. When found he was unconscious. Full particulars we haven't learned.
Later----Just as we go to press we learn that Mr. Fitch died yesterday from the effects of his injury. He was aged about 43, and was one of the well known and highly respected citizens of the county. Interment will take place in the Klamath Falls cemetery (Klamath Republican)

July 9, 1903: “News that A.A. Fitch was seriously injured at his sawmill near Hildebrand by a log that rolled over him, reached Klamath Falls late last evening. Today word came that his injuries terminated fatally at an early hour this morning.
He came to Klamath county in 1888 and built Collahan's sawmill north of the town of Dairy. He afterwards purchased it. In June 1894, he was elected Sheriff of Klamath county, and was reelected in 1896.” (Klamath Falls Express)

July 14, 1903: Harry Ackley has bought the Fitch sawmill and the plant will be moved soon. (Klamath Republican)
October 22, 1903: “Mrs. Lizzie Fitch came in from Hildebrand Friday on a short business trip. Mrs. Fitch is the owner of a fine 160-acre ranch and a sawmill, which she is offering for sale and also has some cattle and about 48 head of horses that she wished to dispose of.” (Klamath Republican)
