December 4, 1908: "The new sawmill at Masten's ranch has a hard time keeping lumber enough sawed to supply the demand. Help is very hard to get and they have to run with a short crew. March 4, 1909: “Chas. Anderson went down to the sawmill the 13th and was unfortunate as get between two logs and one rolled on him, striking him on the shoulder and chest, making his arm swell a great deal. He cannot move his arm now without pain, but is reported to be steadily improving.” (Klamath Republican)
