February 24, 1918: "A new sawmill for the Dairy district, 20 miles east of here, is to be in operation at a very early date by the firm of Snyder & Kitts, who are now unloading their machinery here. They have previously been located in the lumber business at Dorris, Cal. The mill will be installed east of Dairy and several miles north of Bonanza. The proprietors expect to commence to cut about April 1. The mill will have a capacity of more than 20,000 feet a day." (The Sunday Oregonian)
June 12, 1918: "A new saw mill firm, Snyder & Kits, is now in operation in eastern Klamath county, eight miles east of Dairy. This firm which has just got under way, has a force of 15 men and is sawing about 18,000 feet of lumber per day, according to report. A tract of timber sufficient for the entire season's run is adjacent to the mill, it is declared." (The Evening Herald)
June 23, 1918: "The Kits & Snyder sawmill, on the old Cruickshank place, 28 miles east of here, was burned at 2 o'clock Wednesday morning, according to telephone messages received here. The mill, with a valuation of $3500, is reported as a total loss, with $2000 insurance. The lumber surrounding the mill was nearly all saved. Twelve men had been employed at this mill, which was put into operation only recently." (The Oregon Daily Journal)
March 28, 1919: "Snyder and Kitts who have about four hundred thousand feet dry lumber at their mill on the other side of Dairy will commence shipping this week over the Strahorn railroad. The Chelsea box factory gets the lumber and Snyder and Kitts will haul the lumber to the present terminus of the road with three auto trucks." (The Klamath Record)
